Book Review: B is for Bananas

Posted by Laura on Jul 19th 2023

If you are looking for a bedtime story that fills your room with giggles while teaching the alphabet, definitely check out B is for Bananas. Written by Carrie Tillotson and illustrated by Estrela Lourenco, this fun picture book tells the story of a banana that doesn’t want to go to bed.

While the banana acknowledges that A is for Awake, B is certainly not for Bedtime. It’s for bananas! As you flip through the pages you’ll enjoy the interactions between the grown-up, who is trying to share words tied to bedtime routines, and the banana, who changes them to words associated with fun and play. For example, from quiet to quarterback.

Filled with colorful illustrations and a banana determined to take over the book, this is a must-have for any toddler and pre-K bookshelf.

B is for Bananas is 32 pages and published by Flamingo Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
