Cooler than Lemonade, written by Harshita Jerath and Illustrated by Chloe Burgett is a charming and cute picture book perfect for any elementary library. It is about a young girl named Eva with a talent for solving problems in creative ways.

After a very hot summer day Eva and her brother Aru open a lemonade stand to help cool people off, that is until her neighbor Jake gives her some friendly competition. Then Eva finds herself putting her thinking cap on and coming up with new ideas to entice people to buy her lemonade instead. But every time she comes up with a new way to improve her lemonade a new challenge arises.

We follow Eva as she works to improve her business, using perseverance and problem solving skills. Along with its emphasis on creativity this book is sure to inspire the entrepreneurial spirit in the children who read it. Cooler than Lemonade isn't too wordy with a few repeating phrases including “Snaps, Sizzles, and Sprouts” that make it perfect for children to practice reading while getting comfortable with new vocabulary words. It also makes a great bedtime story. With vibrant Illustrations, it is sure to keep the attention of any kid.

This book even includes a recipe on how to make Kulfi. A traditional Indian ice cream.

Cooler than Lemonade is 40 pages long and was published March 2023 by Sourcebook Jabberwocky. It is recommended for ages 4-8 and grade levels PreK- 3rd.
